WIAPS – Water Industry Approved Plumbers Scheme is funded by most of the Water Suppliers to administer an approved plumbers scheme for them. In order to become a WIAPS member, applicants have to demonstrate that they have been suitably trained as a plumber, that they have adequate knowledge of the Regulations by passing an assessment and they must be able to confirm that they have sufficient insurance cover.
Industrial Associates (IA) contribute a great deal to the CIPHE through educating members and supporting the Institute’s primary concern – raising standards of plumbing and heating engineering. The Industrial Associate category was established in 1973. It has some 260 organisations and includes many of the leading companies in the plumbing and heating industry. Hepworth, Worcester Bosch, Armitage Shanks and Hudevad Britain are just a few of the names supporting the Institute’s aims.
CSCS Cards – Construction Skills Certificate Scheme. CSCS is the leading competency card scheme for construction. CSCS provides people employed on construction sites with a portable means of identity and proof of competence to carry out their work on site. LDS engineers have demonstrated and achieved the recognised qualifications required in Leak Detection and passed the relevant Health Safety and Environment test.
CSCS Certificates of Commitment are awarded to companies that have shown a level of commitment to CSCS Schemes. This commitment is determined by the proportion of the company’s onsite workers who hold full CSCS or affiliated cards that are valid and current.
